PADERBORN, Germany - Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- In just 3 weeks we've raised $150,000 on Kickstarter selling Magnic Light, the worlds  first touchless dynamo bike light that works on pure aluminum wheels.

In contrast to normal dynamos you don’t waste energy on powering the light and you'll never have to deal with batteries or cumbersome cables again. The moving wheel spins the magnets inside the tiny 60g generator and a built-in capacitor keeps the light illuminated even when the cyclist stops.

When first presented Magnic Light caused a lot of discussions because it was confused with a perpetual motion machine and even the initially contacted patent attorney refused the commission because he did not believe the generator could work.

The new technology also has effects on cycling events: In June the quartet “German Frauleins” from Hamburg (www.germanfrauleins.de) equipped with Magnic Light illumination will be the first competitors of the famous 5000 km “Race across America” with dynamo powered bike light, which only makes sense due to the negligible energy consumption.

The first version was awarded as best bicycle component 2013 and now the new Magnic Light iC on Kickstarter comes with intelligent microprocessor controlled energy optimization for varying bicycle speed which has applications that go far beyond bicycle lights (i.e. gear free wind engines exposed to changing wind speed and energy for sensors in cars and transport systems)

The new version will be equipped with German STVZO conform lenses and highest efficiency Leds from US market leader Cree.

The Kickstarter project ends on January 31th with extra discount for all backers ($179 per set/ $69 per light incl. adapters compared to 229€ per set for the first version)  while the initial funding goal of $40.000 has been exceeded by a multiple.
