UNCORKED! ... wine tasting just got a lot more FUN!
- Jan. 21, 2014 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
, a party game that challenges players to come up with entertaining tasting notes as they sample new wines, has launched a Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/
and-wordpl) with a heady goal of $25,000 to get the game produced. The game brings together wine and board games, arguably the world’s most perfect pairing.
UNCORKED! was created by Los Angeles locals Audra Quinn, Ashley Borg and Lars Thorn, who came up with the idea while wine tasting, and realized that the over-the-top way people talk about wine would make a great game. The game inspires hilarious wine tasting notes with themed rounds, such as: “Compare this wine to a celebrity”
or “Use sexual innuendo to describe this wine
For people who are not necessarily wine connoisseurs or writers, the game offers helpful “Vocabernet”
Players may learn a thing or two about wine terminology while they play, but the real point is to make wine tasting more fun. “The fact is, there’s no right or wrong way to taste something; it’s completely subjective,”
says Quinn, who notes that UNCORKED! is the only wine-tasting game out there that doesn’t take its subject matter too seriously.
To underscore the fun, UNCORKED! has an 8-foot wine bottle mascot named Corki who loves a good wine pun. You can see his stellar performance in the Kickstarter video at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/uncorkedgame/uncorked...
Supporters have an opportunity to pre-order one of the first produced copies of the game or choose from other rewards ranging from an all-expenses paid trip to Santa Barbara, chauffeured by Corki, to a PDF download of the game.

."We are following in the footsteps of other games that have successfully launched on Kickstarter, like Cards Against Humanity," says Quinn. "Ours is a totally unique take on wine tasting that can be taken with you while in wine country, or played at home with friends. It's the kind of game that you and your friends will be buzzing about for months to come!"
