Hilarious new wine-tasting game UNCORKED! takes winespeak to a new level on Kickstarter

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- UNCORKED! (http://www.uncorkedgame.com/), a party game that challenges players to come up with entertaining tasting notes as they sample new wines, has launched a Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/uncorkedgame/uncorked-the-hilarious-game-of-wine-wit-and-wordpl) with a heady goal of $25,000 to get the game produced. The game brings together wine and board games, arguably the world’s most perfect pairing.

UNCORKED! was created by Los Angeles locals Audra Quinn, Ashley Borg and Lars Thorn, who came up with the idea while wine tasting, and realized that the over-the-top way people talk about wine would make a great game. The game inspires hilarious wine tasting notes with themed rounds, such as: “Compare this wine to a celebrity” or “Use sexual innuendo to describe this wine.”

For people who are not necessarily wine connoisseurs or writers, the game offers helpful “Vocabernet” and “Zinonyms.” Players may learn a thing or two about wine terminology while they play, but the real point is to make wine tasting more fun. “The fact is, there’s no right or wrong way to taste something; it’s completely subjective,” says Quinn, who notes that UNCORKED! is the only wine-tasting game out there that doesn’t take its subject matter too seriously.
