The Ultimate Fitness Marketing software automated this type of referral sales methodology with its initial rollout in early 2012. One component of the software includes something called the Member Multiplier, which allowed a gym member to log-in to their Internet email account and send a free trial pass to anyone in their address book. This was an effective method, but the main drawback was that it needed to be done from the gym computer, and members sometimes had privacy concerns of logging into their personal email on a computer that was not their own, while a gym employee was looking-on behind them.
With the announcement of Member Multiplier 2.0, the referral system gets a facelift and an upgrade in functionality. Plus, it can now be used from any computer at any time. Members are given a link where they can go, from the privacy of their own home and their own computer, log-in to their own dashboard, and refer via social media or Internet email programs. The program will even keep track of the referrals, so that the referring member and the salesperson at the gym can be credited with the referral when a new member joins.
“We’ve really tried to automate fitness marketing to make it simple for gym owners to have lots of systems working at once to find new members and retain current members,” says Curtis Mock, the owner of Fitness Marketing Group. “As far as the Member Multiplier is concerned, all the gym owner or manager really needs to do is establish the reward system for referrals and communicate it to the members. The Member Multiplier will do the rest.”
