Newark, NJ – The Urban Youth Empowerment Program participants were on hand for a presentation by the New Jersey Department of Labor Retail, Hospitality & Tourism Talent Network held at the Urban League of Essex County.  The Retail, Hospitality & Tourism (RHT) Talent Network works with employers to identify job opportunities and skills gaps in the current workforce. After identifying these needs, RHT assists in recruiting and arranging for future employees to obtain positions.

Sandra Bleckman, Director for the RHT Talent Network stated, “ We are very excited about partnering with the Urban League to identify talented and motivated job seekers for the numerous employers that we are assisting. These collaborative efforts help further our objectives and help to address the increasing unemployment rate facing the residents of the state.”

Shonique Banks, Director for Youth Programs at the Urban League of Essex County stated, “The Urban Youth Empowerment Program connects young adults who have been involved in the juvenile justice system by increasing their education and skills and find a job. We are delighted to have strong partnerships with the New Jersey Department of Labor Talent Networks and we look forward to great results as our young people further their education and find employment.”
