MIAMI - Jan. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Hispanic-American Firefighters Association (HAFA) hosted their 19th holiday celebration for special needs children at the Miami Seaquarium on Dec. 19, 2013. About 700 special needs students from Miami-Dade County middle and high schools enjoyed a fun-filled day at the Seaquarium.

“This is the biggest annual event that HAFA organizes and we wouldn’t be able to put it together without the support of our volunteers and supporters,” said Gabriel Nemeth. “It’s such an amazing event because at the end of the day it’s the children’s happy faces that make it all worth it.”

The students enjoyed Santa’s arrival at the Seaquarium and attended two shows, the Golden Dome Sea Lion show and the Top Deck Dolphin show. Afterwards, they all received lunch and a present before heading back to school.

HAFA organizes and hosts this event every year; members’ dues and

support from sponsors offset the cost. About 50 to 60 firefighters

volunteered on Dec. 19th. The Miami Seaquarium donated the location

and shows. Other supporters included Miami Dade Fire Rescue and

Metro Dade Local 1403.
