By: Hamilton Honda The dealership, founded by former New York Giants Pro-Bowl linebacker Jessie Armstead and automotive veteran Mike Saporito, provided t-shirts for Notre Dame High School’s annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, Jan. 12, at McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch. For the event, students, faculty and alumni from the high school in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, jumped into the ocean water with average January temperatures in the low-30s. All proceeds from the event supported the Jean McGraw Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund, which is available for students whose families experience a crisis, causing a financial hardship that prevents them from fulfilling their financial obligations to the school. The fund is named in honor of Mrs. Jean McGraw, beloved social studies teacher, who retired in 2012. “This fun event supports a great cause, and we’re happy to work with a great institution in the community like Notre Dame high school,” Saporito said. Throughout the year, Hamilton Honda provides its support to various local causes. In 2013, Armstead and Saporito received honorary lifetime membership to the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) Local 66 for their charitable work in the community and support of the local police department. Additionally, Armstead received the Man of the Year Award at the 2013 New York Giants Big Blue BBQ.
