PALM COAST, Fla. –The Flagler County Chamber’s Leadership 21 graduates are pleased to announce that they are continuing to raise money for their service project that they took on during their Leadership class.
Each Leadership class is required to launch or support a major service project during their three-month session. Leadership 21’s project was to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, that was started by Leadership 18. “We thought that drawing the winner at the Chamber’s installation banquet would be a great idea,” said David I. Alfin, one of the Leadership graduates this year. “Tickets are $5 and the donation enters you into a chance to win a stay at Hammock Beach Resort, plus gifts from many community partners valued at more than $1,400,” Alfin added.
The winner will be drawn at the Flagler County Chamber’s Installation Banquet on February 7th. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can call 386-585-0903 (tel:386-585-
In 1996, Dolly Parton launched the Imagination Library to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee. Dolly's vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could insure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.
