Follow on Google News | A Tribute to "The Hazards of Love" Returns to RenoWith returning cast members and new faces, the Juxtaposeur's Tribute to "The Hazards of Love" will grace the showroom stage at Jub Jub's Thirst Parlor in early February.
By: The Juxtaposeurs “The Hazards of Love” is a story-based concept album by the acclaimed Americana band, The Decemberists, chronicling a tale of love, magic, betrayal and transcendence. In their tribute, The Juxtaposeurs tribute band and production ensemble combines live music with movement and dance, bringing this narrative to life. Complete with fantastical creatures, villainy, love and blood, but no rhetoric, “The Hazards of Love” tribute will touch the hearts of even the most jaded theater-goers. Organized by Producer, Director and Vocalist, Jill Marlene, and conceived by Assistant Director/Vocalist Gabe Hilton and AD Kaitlin Oki, The Juxtaposeurs first staged the tribute show in the fall of 2010 for a short run. The response to the six sell-out performances was overwhelming, leading Marlene, Hilton and Oki to revive it for Reno audiences once again. This tribute to The Decemberists will feature many returning cast members and musicians, as well as new faces. The musical cast will include the talents of Music Director Chris Nelson, musician Mac Esposito, and vocalist Margy Ford among many others. Leading stage roles are assumed by the acting and movement talents of Scooby Meredith, Andrea Sullivan, Sarah Johnson and Rory Dowd. Jub Jub’s Thirst Parlor is just one of many community sponsors facilitating this tribute production. Typically a venue for live bands, the all-new Jub Jub’s Showroom will be hosting a stage production for the first time. The Juxtaposeurs encourage all audience members to go out and buy this phenomenal album for themselves, either before or after the performance, to enjoy the journey of one of the most literary bands of our time. The event is all-ages and will begin at 7:30pm for all performances except the Sunday matinee at 2pm. Advance tickets are available at The Melting Pot on S. Virginia or Prism Magic on Pyramid Way for $12. All tickets are $15 at the door. Steampunk attire is encouraged for all audience members, but is not required. End
