This monday marks the first business day after my initial launch of my business site, www.JoeKiser.com (http://www.joekiser.com)
There are many talented people who haven't fulfilled their dreams because they over thought it, or they were too cautious, and were unwilling to make the leap of faith.
I really appreciate all the compliments and useful feedback that you have given me. After all, my aim is to support and build community through the work I do, and that could only be accomplished by your feedback.
I have to admit, I was nervous to put myself out there, but your opinion matters, and is what has always inspired me to be the best version of Joe that I can be.
How I measure it to be successful!
Well that is easy,
- I sent my letter to to 398 valid emails addresses that I have.
- The measurable goal when sending out a newsletter is that 19% of those receiving it open it. That would be a successful measurable statistic.
- 24hours later I looked and found that 50.1% of the people I had sent this too had opened it, some multiple times.
I feel blessed and want to say thank you.
Another Statistic I was told you should consider is how many people take the action you put in the newsletter. I chose to ask viewers to follow the links to my website and give me any feedback you may have.
- The measurable goal when doing this, is to have 2.1% of those that open the letter click on the link to your outside page.
- 11% of my viewers clicked, and several people gave me positive feedback as well as constructive criticism.
These statistics, are way better than the industry standards. Why you ask?
The Question, the Answer.
This all started as a running joke when trying to find my place in such a saturated profession, real estate. Do you know that there are over 20 Thousand licensed real estate broker's in Washington state alone?
I have had several nicknames from "the Mayor" to "the Connector" but when talking to marketing guru Jason Fox (http://www.jasonfox.me), we realized that these were endearing and showed that I had built a network on trust and a"how can I help you" attitude.
And decided to use "The Connector" as a way to help describe and humanize my goals in becoming a real estate professional. "The Real Estate Connector", and "The Edmonds Connector" are just the start to being a part of connecting you my friends, community, and real estate.
My Promise Going Forward
In our busy everyday lives we all have lots of content and junk sent to us via email, and snail mail, so the last thing we want is information that is not personal or helpful. I want to continue to have an open dialog of feedback so I can send you information and keep you informed on what is important to you.
I see my real estate profession as a way to connect people with the other people, help business connect with business, to help build and strengthen our communities.
My challenge to you, put yourself out there. Writing this blog is a challenge. I have never done this before, and do not consider myself to be a writer. In doing this I am trying to talk to you, my people, my heart.
2014, is a time to evolve, to grow. To tap into the "I have never done that, I can't do that part of me." 2014 I want to live. Its funny how the mind works, I genuinely want all of you to succeed. I want you to go where you have never been, When you say you're going to, I believe you will.
Why not apply that to my own life?
That really is what this endeavour is, I am not interested in the cookie cutter formula, of this is how you build your business, you have to make this many calls, overcome this many objections....No, I want to build my business with you, for you, I want to create time to help you and in doing so watch you build your life through encouraging each other to step into the unknown.
Where do we go from here?
I hope this snapshot into my mind shows you the motivation behind my website. I wanted to target a community I love and grew up in, using my skills to contribute to Edmonds (http://www.edmondsconnector.com).
I built a website loaded with tools to help you. If you want to just set your own search to find the home of your dreams you can simply do that from the first page. wwww.edmondsconnector.com
If you want to read blogs about Edmonds (http://www.edmondsconnector.com/
If you love Edmonds and want some free marketing, i'd love for you to contribute to the blog page telling us of your events and your business please feel free submit your idea.
If you are thinking about selling your home (http://www.edmondsconnector.com/
Starting to think about buying (http://www.edmondsconnector.com/
I tried to build a place with information for all people, whether this is your first time considering purchasing, to the person who has done this many times. I wanted it to have something that everyone can use. I wanted to build a place that will be useful and helpful, whether you use me as your broker or find the tools to make it easier for the DIY person.
