Parrish Street Project

The Parrish Street Project is an initiative of the Durham City Council to commemorate the nationally significant history of Parrish Street, also known as "Black Wall Street," and spur economic revitalization for this downtown Durham corridor. This initiative is being coordinated by the City's Office of Economic and Workforce Development and a group of Durham leaders, activists, businesses, and citizens representing some of the most influential organizations and interests in the Bull City. Together they are engaged in a mission to attract new investment and pursue national heritage area status from the United States Congress. To learn more, visit www.parrishstreet.org.

S.J.G. Greater NC Sports Background

S.J.G. Greater NC Sports, Inc. was started by three childhood friends: Jerry Stackhouse, Donyell Bryant, and Chuck Jones.  All three athletes (Chuck formally of ECU and WSSU basketball, Donyell formally of NC A&T baseball, and Jerry formally of UNC-CH basketball and currently playing professionally in the NBA) decided to name their brainchild after their fathers: Sal, Jerry, and George, respectively.  They later involved Erroll Reese to assist in community related and marketing activities.  S.J.G. Greater NC Sports hosts various events in many different areas.  S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM, or as its more commonly called Greater NC Pro-AM or NC Pro-AM, is a division of S.J.G. Greater NC Sports.  It's designed to bring professional athletes, college players, and high school all-stars under one roof to bring the game of basketball to the next level and foster grassroots mentoring.
