ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. January 9, 2014: The Board of the Central Florida Christian Film Festival announced today the Festival is taking place Friday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 23 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. at the Altamonte Chapel, a 2.5-acre church campus with three buildings for movie screenings, film workshops, and receptions. Also announced today is a pre-Festival event Thursday, Jan. 16 for businesses and others who would like to learn more about the Festival and how they can get involved and show their support.
Created by an esteemed team of local film producers, publishers and journalists, the Central Florida Christian Film Festival is designed to encourage the production of quality Christian films as an alternative to the R-rated films that fill today’s box offices.
“We are trying to change the culture one film at a time, encouraging the production and distribution of quality family-friendly Christian films,” said Brian Cline, executive producer of Christian Films. “The Festival also provides quality filmmakers that much-needed opportunity to meet contacts for production, screening and distribution of their films,” Cline added.
At the Festival, qualified filmmakers are offered an opportunity to showcase their films, and meet avid moviegoers, distributors and other motion picture professionals. Distributors, publishers, and screenwriters will be in attendance as well.
The event will be filled with three days of movies and one day of workshops covering:
◦ Is Christian filmmaking Your Calling?
◦ Improving dialogue in your movies (scriptwriting)
◦ Financing techniques for Christian filmmakers
◦ Creating effective sound score for films (music)
There are multi-tiered cash prizes for the winning entries and sponsors will be making additional services available for future movies as a part of the prize package.
