The City of Columbus, Indiana has selected Data Cave, a full-service, fully redundant data center as their new colocation provider. Data Cave will be the primary data center location for all of the City’s critical IT equipment that was previously housed at the Columbus City Hall. This will provide the city with much higher levels of security and reliability for their IT infrastructure, which manages several critical services such as email, city websites, payroll, and other applications used by city staff and citizens.

Columbus is one of the fastest growing cities in Indiana and is a national leader in light and medium manufacturing. The services that its employees and citizens rely on everyday are mission-critical, and their data center has to be able to ensure that services are always available.  ”When it came to selecting a data center, we knew at the beginning that we wanted to work with an enterprise-level facility, and not just a lower-level provider with limited availability,” says Sean O’ Leary, Community IT Executive for the City of Columbus. “With Data Cave we could easily tell that we were getting the best of everything: a world-class facility, a high level of security, and a proven track record, since they are already the primary data center for the Bartholomew County government. In the end, it was really a no-brainer for us.”

Zack Ellison, President at Data Cave, comments on the new partnership with the City of Columbus, “We live in a data rich and data critical environment where the loss of any data can shut down sections of our government. Data Cave is very pleased to have been selected and trusted with the IT data for the City of Columbus.”
