NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Jan. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Hello all!
As you drive by this great new restaurant the smell of hickory and oak smoke fills the air. Reminding me a little of fall and now that the weather is cooler, I feel a sense of nostalgia and this place feels like a good friend.

My husband and I visited Pickles BBQ & Ice House (https://www.facebook.com/picklesbbq) because it is nearby our house and we love to try new restaurants and BBQ.  I had watched as they were redoing the space and was excited for a new restaurant that we could regularly visit and have great food and a wonderful time.   There aren't many family restaurants that we felt we wanted to visit often and could call "our place."

We went in and LOVED how the space is warm and cool, industrial and earthy, inviting with green backed booths and large flat screen tvs tucked into the wood.  The bar runs along the back of the restaurant.  This is a restaurant with a bar, not a bar with food!  We sat at a booth for our dinner and in the Steele fashion ordered a little something off of each part of the menu.

The drinks here at Pickles are PHENOMENAL.  I ordered a Pickled Senorita which is made with a fresh cucumber infused vodka, Elderflower liqueur and lime juice, garnished with cilantro.  WOW. You can taste the fresh cucumber flavor in this drink and it was so good.  One of their signature drinks also is a BLT which is made with bacon infused bourbon whiskey that they make in house.  We got to try a sample of it and again WOW! was it delicious.  They make it into a sort of Bloody Mary that hits the spot come Sunday Brunch, which again is an out of this world menu.  Isaac is the executive chef at Pickles and they have created a wonderful Brunch menu.  Try the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict. Melt.In.Your.Mouth.  I actually wanted to lick the plate (i know that's bad but THAT'S how good the flavor was!)  Oh, and did I mention all you can drink mimosas?

For a starter we shared the Texas cornmeal pickles with the house made BBQ ranch dip.  If you haven't ever had fried pickles, GO TO PICKLES... As a meal we shared an order of the jalapeno beef sausage links with the smokin' sweet heat BBQ sauce and an order of the smoked cheddar Mac N Cheese.  We kept looking up at each other smiling... the food is THAT excellent.  For dessert I had a piece of pecan pie. All in all an excellent Texas meal for my foodie husband and I.

We have eaten there several times since and have never been disappointed.  The food and atmosphere and staff are wonderful.  They have several specials each day.  Go for Mommy Mondays.  $1 drink for Mommy and they'll even change the TV for you for your little ones.  My son and I watched Thomas the Train and I had a wonderful cinnamon Bailey's beverage with the mac and cheese and Kobe beef sliders.  YUM.

Pickles is truly a caring family restaurant run by caring family oriented owners.  We are so glad that this is up the street from where we live and I truly hope that you will stop in to make it your go to restaurant also.

Take care and I hope you have an excellent meal.  Let them know Realtor Amy Steele (http://www.citiesrealestate.com/agents/amys-cell-817-470-...) sent you!
