Toronto Loves Poutine! How Do You Like Yours?

TORONTO - Jan. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- La Poutine Week is finally coming to Toronto! A Montreal-born poutine-centric festival which asks restaurants to push their limits in creating a special poutine for one week only at a special price! If you love poutine or always wanted to try one, now it you chance.

Poutine, that famous gastronomic greatness that Canadians so proudly hold as our own will finally get the recognition and attention it deserves.  This week, the founders of La Poutine Week, announced that they are bringing their Montreal-based festival to Toronto to offer locals a sampling of all the great poutines available right here in hog town! La Poutine Week will take place Saturday February 1^st to Friday February 7^th across the city, at some of the top restaurants and eateries.

La Poutine Week combines a food festival with a fun food contest that allows discerning diners to sample and rank their favorite poutines for the full week. Online votes and a few celebrity tasters will help crown one of the city's best poutines!  Restaurants like Lou Dawgs BBQ, Rock Lobster Ossington, Hogtown Smoke, The Lakeview Restaurant and Caplansky's Delicatessen will be among the many involved this year! The event was co-created by reknowned Montreal food blogger Le Méchant Mangeur (AKA Na’eem Adam).  “Poutine outside of Quebec is not a diner tradition, it's a delicacy and we wanted to explore that more in Toronto!” says Na’eem Adam. “T.O. has the creativity and the size to surprise us - we’re excited to see what chefs will come up with”, adds Thierry Rassam, co-founder of the event.
