VP of Marketing at ConcertFix, Julian Gonzalez, said “its was the perfect move for us to make. One of our goals at ConcertFix it to provide concert fans a platform where they can get every type of concert information they needed. Whos on Tour filled the tour announcement piece perfectly.”
ConcertFix has hoped to announce the acquisition of whos on tour prior to their announcement of the launch. Due to delays in the acquisition process, ConcertFix was not able to announce the acquisition until several days later. The delay was caused by another potential buyer of whos-on-tour.org. It ultimately came down to a bidding war that ConcertFix won. The other potential buyer has still not been verified but it is rumored to have been the ticket search engine SeatGeek, hoping to finally have a successful blog to attach to its rapidly growing ticket search engine platform. Terms of the whos-on-tour.org aquisition are not being disclosed.
During the next few months All traffic from whos-on-tour.org will be redirected to concertfix.com/
About Whos on Tour
Whos on Tour started as a small three-person operation out of a Tulane University dorm room. Using a interesting but effective method of research, the three roommates developed a strategy for delivering up to the minute news on tour announcements and concert news. After seeing a significant traffic increases during 2012, the blog became one of the main advertising portals for many artists, musicians, and comedians who were announcing upcoming tours. All three members of the Tulane dorm room are still with the company and now hold positions at ConcertFix in the tour news division.
