Cerritos College Automotive Receives Access to Indentifix

Identifix is a professional automotive service and maintenance database that is used by automotive service professionals in repair shops all over country. Cerritos College Instructors and students will have access to the database as a learning tool.

NORWALK, Calif. - Jan. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Because Cerritos College is a NATEF certified school, Identifix is providing access to their web site database at no charge. To prepare for the Automotive Program for the access, online training was facilitated by Judy Wax, Identifix Training Coordinator, on January 9, 2014. The instructors that went through the Identifix training are: Richard Aragon, Marty Supple, Rick Vasilik, Tony Baron, Marty Rudd, Jon Bender, Eddie Martin, Ed Moorland, Frank Vega, Juan Gonzalez, Richard Aros, Joe Mulleary, Kevin Taylor, and Leonard Glick.

All participants received instruction on how search for service information on the Identifix web site.  The instructors were given a detailed description on how to navigate the huge amount of data stored on the Identifix web site and how to teach students how to use the system.

“Online automotive information databases are an essential tool for the auto service technician. Having access to Identifix will give the students the opportunity to be exposed to this very popular database and to develop expertise in its use,” said Leonard Glick, Automotive Instructor.

All computer stations in the Cerritos College automotive facility will have access to Identifix and all our automotive students will have the opportunity to use and practice with Identifix.

“When our students graduate and look for work in the automotive service industry, if they can show that they have experience using the Indentifix database, it will put them one step ahead of job applicants that have never used this type of resource,” said Leonard Glick. “Being able to expose our students to this database and allowing them to use it in their automotive classes will provide them with a valuable working knowledge of the tool. This can become a valuable asset for them when they begin their automotive career.”
