Learning about the abundance of Veterans who have PTSD and knowing how valuable Service Dogs are in the treatment of this and other neurological disorders, they have made it their mission to help Veterans and Civilians alike acquire Service Dogs.
The Hoppes have put together a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work directly with the Veterans to help them fund their dogs and support them through their journey. At the helm of the new organization and the Veteran Programming is Jill Pavel. Pavel was hired to run the marketing for their company GatorlandK9 and was asked by the Hoppes to run the Service Dog Organization. "By organizing fundraisers and involving the Veteran's local community we create the awareness and funds needed to train and give the Veteran a new lease on life," Jill Pavel said.
In 2013 Pavel created and founded Heart Songs for Veterans, a programing initiative to help raise funds to expedite the process for our Veterans. Pavel pairs singers, songwriters, musicians with Veterans who live with PTSD. Through a collaborative and therapeutic process the Veteran tells the artist their story and the artist creates and records a song in their honor.
Pavel partnered with Blingnot Media, one of the largest music distribution partners in the world, helmed by Kevon Glickman. Blingnot Media distributes the music and proceeds from the sale of the Heart Song go to Service Protection Dogs For World Peace. The Omni Nashville, a programming sponsor hosts free rooms to help the Veterans and Songwriters collaborate in a stress free environment.
Today marks the release of the first two Heart Songs. Artist Andy Roadarmel, released "Carolina" (available on itunes). Roardarmel inspired Pavel's idea to create Heart Songs For Veterans when he asked her to let him work with one of their Veterans pro-bono. Pavel realized the therapeutic value of the collaboration for the Veteran and the program was born.
Artist ImSoFIRST aka Hart released "My Last Day" (available on itunes). Hart is a Veteran himself and found his way onto the Blingnot artist roster by promoting his video "My Last Day" and catching the eye of Pavel on the social media feeds. Inspired by his ability to affect Veterans with PTSD in a positive manner through his music, she introduced him to the Blingnot Media Team and he is now a signed artist.
Both Roadarmel and Hart are ambassadors of the Heart Songs For Veteran program along with Country Artist Ashley Winters, Adult Contemporary Rocker, Cory Singer & Country Artist Ray Fulcher. Winters is rising quickly in the country music scene & is working with a Veteran in New Hampshire. Singer won BRAVO TV's spin off "The Kandi Factory" last year and has been using his new celebrity as a vehicle to help others. Cory Singer says, "I love helping Veterans. I come from a family of Veterans and active military and without them we would not be living in a free world, I am grateful everyday." Singer is working with a Veteran in New Jersey. Fulcher is currently working with a Veteran in his home state of Georgia.
We expect at least three more releases in the next few months along with a tour sponsored by Blingnot in June/July/August 2014.
The program is open to ALL Veterans with PTSD.
