NEW YORK - Jan. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- "IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO DATE!"  A Dating Book for 50-Somethings

Shirley & Howard's Rx's for Dating and Mating After 50

Howard Eisenberg, now 87,  spent 50 years with the right woman -- Arlene Eisenberg, who co-bylined hundreds of popular magazine articles and four books with him. Howard's wife, Arlene and daughter wrote "What to Expect When You're Expecting."

After Arlene's passing early in 2001, he spent  three years of what he thought of as "desperately seeking Arlene."  He dated at least 50 women, but there was no way he could find her equal in sweetness, brains, and beauty.

Shirley Friedenthal, now 81, a physician's widow, found Howard on J-Date but couldn't understand why he seemed to be mourning Arlene's loss after such a long time. She finally gave him what she calls "The Shirley Treatment, telling him that if he wanted to live in the present he should stop living in the past.

If not, he might as well go home and kill himself. That statement stunned Howard. All he could say was,
"You're right." That was almost ten years ago. Howard and Shirley are still dating and have published
"It's Never Too Late To Date". www.itsnevertoolatetodate.com

Here are some tips from the book.

Too many women in their 50's and beyond have given up on ever meeting Mr. Practically Perfect.

But, a small inner voice whispers, "Will I always have to eat alone and go to bed with a book?"  Responding to that voice, the authors'
Howard Eisenberg, and Shirley Friedenthal, inspiring message is, "It's never too late. We did it. So can you.

Here's how!"

The authors' advice: Think of every date as an adventure.  If it ends with a handshake instead of a kiss, never beat yourself up.
Just smile ruefully, MENTALLY,  push last night's loser off a cliff and move on to the next candidate.

Above all:  Persist, Persist, Persist.

DATING WISDOM 101

1. Turn off your shy button.  Shinking Violets bloom unseen.

2. No need to despair if your hourglass figure has gained half an hour. It's never to late to lose weight.

3. The only thing you get from sitting around waiting for romance to happen is creases in your skirt

4. When it comes to choosing women, men are as shallow as your bathtub.

5. If you don't like what you see in the mirror, don't break the mirror.

6.Your cup isn't half-empty. It's just waiting to be filled.  Start pouring!

7. Most men are as attracted to cleavage as toddlers are to electric sockets and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

8. Smile, Smile, Smile!!! "Why do we love babies?  Their wonderful smiles make up for what's in their diapers."

9. Make a habit of going to bed with comfort food, and the only thing you'll find beside you when you wake up in the morning is a bunch of crumbs.

10. It's better to eat breakfast with the morning paper than with the wrong man.
