Perfections Salon announces the Perfect Blowout for today's busy woman

CINCINNATI - Jan. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Montgomery, Ohio-based Perfections Salon announces the addition of the Perfect Blowout to its service menu for those women with busy lives, hectic schedules and no time or energy to look their very best.

"Today's women don't schedule hair appointments the way women did in the '50s, '60' and '70s," Perfections Salon Artistic Director Kenneth Collopy said. "Back in the day, women had weekly standing beauty salon appointments to ensure they looked their best at all times. Today's working women often have schedules that leave very little time for themselves. Women across the country have been looking for the kind of help and pampering that blow dry bars offer."

Blow dry bars, Collopy explained, started on the west coast to offer exclusive styling services to Hollywood elite who needed to be red-carpet ready for photographers. Because it was such a good idea, blow dry bars have been making their way to the east coast to offer shampoos and blowouts for women who are either too tired or too busy to do the difficult styling work themselves.

"Many of today's women wear long styles. For them, shampooing and styling long locks can be a time-consuming and exhausting task," Collopy said. "It's so much easier for a stylist standing behind a woman to work on her long, tangled tresses than for the woman to do it herself. A great blowout takes not only professional tools and products, it takes strength and leverage. That's one of the benefits the stylist offers. While we are not specifically a blow dry bar -- Perfections Salon offers a variety of hair-only services -- we felt it imperative to add a group of blowout services to our menu to stay current with what clients are demanding today."

Included in the Perfect Blowout is a shampoo with the proper cleansing solution for each client's hair type, a blowout and a style using the appropriate professional styling products and the correct professional styling tools that maintain precise heat levels to achieve the desired look.

"We use professional titanium styling irons for straightening and smoothing thick, coarse hair," Collopy said. "For thinner, finer textured hair, the silicone styling iron is the best tool for conditioning, protecting hair color and imparting shine. The iron's silicone bars provide exceptional shine while protecting finer hair from breaking.

"Both irons offer precise heat control and even heat distribution... something that consumer-level irons don't necessarily offer. Any time you cannot control the heat precisely and you're working at up to 450F, you stand the chance of burning hair off if you don't know how to use the tools properly... a problem many clients unfortunately discover on their own."

Collopy added the salon uses several types of round or oval brushes and heated rollers when needed to provide just the right level of volume or curl for the desire style.

Clients can choose a Perfect Blowout style from Perfectly Straight, Perfectly Smooth, Perfect Volume, Perfect Curls or Perfectly Wild Waves, depending on the look they want. Each style takes specific professional products and equipment.

Pricing is $35 for shoulder-and-below length (service lasts 45 minutes), $30 for shoulder-and-above length (service lasts 30 minutes). A Perfect Blowout by Kenneth is $100.
