Paul Davies, former Air Force Corporal publishes exciting fantasy novel entitled THE LOCUST FIELDS

PRLog - Jan. 10, 2014 - LONDON, U.K. -- About the Book:

No one on that warm summer’s day could have foretold the orgy of wanton death and destruction which was set on a collision course towards the peaceful kingdom of Mercia.

A small group of comrades are thrown together by fate. Tagan, the Prince of Mercia; Mortimer, an old man with the look of a wizard; Faith, a fairy; Aaron and Tim, brothers who look completely unlike each other; and Death, a spirit whose  help seemed to be conditional. These are all that stand between the Earth’s survival and ravishes of lizard-like creatures whose only function is to destroy.

Slowly, the group finds a way to fight back. Joining with others who have skills and knowledge, they fight for the survival of their civilisation. This new alliance struggles with setbacks but they take the fight to the Destroyer and its army of creatures.  But are they too late?

“For the most part smiles covered the faces of the onlookers, both on the stage and in the crowd. An older looking gentleman who disliked being pushed and jostled by the crowd knew if it had not been so outspoken, he would also be a member of the Council of Ten, but today was a day not even Mortimer could find fault in.

Lifting the crown high over the head of Kathryn who was now holding a sword in her right hand and a golden globe in her left, the two elderly members of the Council said in unison, “We now crown you Queen Kathryn the fourth of Mercia, defender of the people, keeper of the peace, the Light to lead us to peace and prosperity.” Both lowered the heavy and rather uncomfortable crown onto her head.  Standing back, they joined the crowds in calls of “Long live the Queen may she prosper and rule well.”

A smile spread across her face as she acknowledged the cheers, trying to nod thanks and balance the crown at the same time. No one watching the happy scene could have imagined in their wildest darkest nightmares the horrors which were set to fall upon this and every other country of the world in the following years.”
