CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Dancers Unite Fine Arts Academy LLC is proud to announce that six of their dancers performed in the 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl.  Morgan Barksdale, Emma Doncaster, McKenna Dvorak, Grace Hoover, Emma Plott and Baldwin Sappenfield represented the Charlotte dance studio in the college football game’s halftime show.  The 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl was held on January 2 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The 6 students, all Charlotte residents, had been practicing for the performance since November.  The studio directors, Elizabeth and Julie Emery, received a DVD of the choreography in the mail and rehearsed it with the dancers at the studio.  The Emmy Award-winning choreographer is Bonnie Story, who has worked on the High School Musical franchise as well as So You Think You Can Dance.   While in New Orleans, the students also took a master class with another So You Think You Can Dance choreographer, Tyce Diorio.

The dance studio has a tradition of performing in front of large audiences.  Dancers Unite also had students dancing in the halftime show of the 2012 Capital One Bowl, as well as the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The dance studio was also invited to perform in such events as the 2014 New Year’s Day Parade in London.  The studio has also performed in local parades and a tribute to local troops as well as Carowinds, nursing homes, and other charity events in the Charlotte area.
