Epic Powder Storm in Alta, Utah

The snow will be measured in feet by the end of the storm cycle

ALTA, Utah - Jan. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Alta, Utah—Die-hard powder skiers have been champing at the bit waiting for a monster powder dump like the one that is happening now in Little Cottonwood Canyon. By Thursday afternoon, Alta Ski Area was reporting 15 inches of new snow with a 57-inch base.  The National Weather Service has issued a major storm warning that is in effect until 5 pm on Friday for the Wasatch Mountains of Utah with snow accumulations of 1-2 feet.

Three Parisians who took an eight-hour direct flight from Paris to Salt Lake City for their first visit to Alta were delighted to being skiing in such exceptional conditions during their four-day stay at Alta.

As the three-day Martin Luther King Jr. weekend holiday approaches Monday, January 20, skiers are reminded there is still time to plan for a last minute extended weekend ski vacation.  With all the new snow, there is no time like the present to take that ski vacation to Alta and stay at Alta Lodge.
