At the Advocates for Responsible Care, the executive director, Dorothy Leone-Glasser and her team contribute their time and efforts to helping people in need. ARxC is devoted to effectively reducing cultural incompetency and healthcare delivery disparity. They also educate and empower those who come to them for help on how to become their own star advocate. Understanding how hard it is for people to speak up when they are sick, whether it be access to medication, access to care, etc., it is important for them to learn how to support themselves until their voice can be heard.
On Friday, January 10, 2014 at 4 p.m. EST, Dorothy will be a guest on Spotlite Radio where she will educate her listeners about Advocates for Responsible Care and what they do. She will also share the correlation between healthcare and human rights and how there cannot be a powerful nation without being a healthy nation. Part of ARxC mission is to assist people acquire access to all healthcare and prescription drug needs in order to achieve their maximum wellness, which in turn makes the United States a more powerful and healthy nation.
Currently, they are instituting legislation in Georgia to protect people and to get affordable access for those who take specialty drugs, either injection by a physician or self-injected, infused (IV) drugs. The insurance industry is placing these drugs in a very high category, which makes them almost inaccessible to the patient. These drugs can be the difference between walking and wheelchairs, living and dying, as well as patients who have AIDS, HIV, and MS, just to name a few.
