NEW YORK - Jan. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- According to http://www.WikiTrend.org, the unmanned drone is quickly trending forward. The remotely-controlled aircraft has been the source of controversy over the past few months, as promises of domestic use are raising privacy concerns. But with the controversy comes intrigue, and there is a growing effort to develop drones for the public marketplace.

The market is currently filling up with personal drone aircraft. Developers are taking inspiration from the unmanned craft used for years by the military and repurposing it for civilian use. There are a number of grassroots projects that seek to make these devices available to the masses. The devices aren’t hard to use- they’re controlled by apps on a smart device. The idea is becoming so common, it’s already being repurposed, as underwater drones are also being developed.

The drone is also coming to the masses through 3D printing. The process of using resins to create a usable aircraft is catching on, and multiple crafts have already taken to the sky.

The purposes of these private drones are still unclear, but uses are being created. Amazon and DHL have already famously expressed their intentions to develop drones that can help deliver packages. Protestors in the Middle East have deployed drones to scout police activity. And homemade drones have been deployed to hunt for drug runners at sea.

“Drones are just the next step in integrated personal technology,” a WikiTrend.org spokesperson said. “This is a fascinating gadget, and it is only a matter of time before creative people find incredible ways to use these devices.”
