Follow on Google News | Pro Bono Partnership Receives $15,000 Grant from Fairfield County Community FoundationPro Bono Partnership provides free, business legal services to nonprofit organizations. Working closely with the Fairfield nonprofit community in 2013, the Partnership assisted more than 80 organizations there with more than 160 legal matters, answered over 150 resource calls for legal assistance, coordinated more than 100 volunteers from corporate legal departments and law firms, and offered 13 workshops on legal issues impacting nonprofits. The support from FCCF will enable the Partnership to continue providing its services to the nonprofit community in Fairfield County. Additionally, the Partnership plans to use these funds to conduct outreach to new clients unfamiliar with its services and educate them on the benefits of using the Partnership. “Pro Bono Partnership has a big impact on our bottom line. I feel like we are paying top dollar for the services we receive for free, and the money we save allows us to redirect it to our services,” said Rafael Pagan, Jr., Executive Director of Shelter for the Homeless in Stamford, CT. The Fairfield County Community Foundation promotes the growth of community and regional philanthropy to improve the quality of life throughout Fairfield County. Individuals, families, corporations and organizations can establish their own charitable funds or contribute to existing funds focused on specific areas of need or communities in Fairfield County. The Foundation also provides philanthropic advisory services, and develops and leads initiatives to tackle critical community issues. It is in compliance with the Council on Foundations’ Pro Bono Partnership provides business and transactional legal services to nonprofit organizations serving the disadvantaged or enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Substantially leveraging the impact of its in-house legal staff, the Partnership annually recruits and mobilizes hundreds of attorneys from major corporations and law firms to donate their time and expertise on behalf of its nonprofit clients, enhancing their ability to improve conditions in their communities.
