Eric B. Hughes...aka E.B. Hughes has written numerous screenplays, and has sold 2 screenplays;
The one screenplay "The Fallen Faithful" was made into a feature-film in 2010. It won Best Screenplay in 2011 at the Beverly Hills Film festival. Hughes has directed the boxing documentary "Once a Champion" -which chronicled the comeback of former Light-heavyweight boxing champion, Matthew Saad Muhammad when he was 40 years old. I directed 2 short films ( A Distant Chord & Harsh Light). "Harsh Light" won several awards at film festivals. Production on "Pacing the Cage" began in 2009, and ended in March of 2011. It was shot on location in New York, and took 2 years to shoot due to raising financing. Its stars Denny Bess as "Max Lyons"- a recently released convict who is trying to get his life straightened out- when some personal demons from his past comeback to haunt him. Namely- his character is in debt to a drug lord named Lucius Jones- played by Mark Borkowski, known for his appearances on the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. The film also stars Reyna Kahan as Max's love interest- "Sara", New York actor Don Striano plays Ziggy the friend and landlord of the rooming house where Max. It also stars NY based actress Sayra Player as "Mona"- Lucius' girlfriend, Conor Romero (The Michael J Fox Show) as Yady Lopez, Franklin Ojeda Smith as "Psychic" and Ron Rey as "Johnnie"- who works for Borkowski's character "Lucius".
It is currently being submitted to film festivals. Hughes has also written, directed and produced the feature-film "Turnabout" starring George Katt, Waylon Payne and Peter Greene - which is currently in post production. Mr Hughes grew up in Ocean City, NJ- and has lived in California for several years, but has since relocated back to NJ again. He started photographing boxing matches at the age of 15, and began getting his photos published in Ring Magazine at the age of 17. He did this for 10 years, before getting into writing and filmmaking.
