The Momentous Decree celebrated by Chicago Modern Orchestra Project

Celebration of Dr. King legacy featuring composer in residence Gregg Wramage

CHICAGO - Jan. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- NewMusic USA and the League of American Orchestras are two of the most vital institutions bringing new music to audiences today. The CHICAGO MODERN ORCHESTRA PROJECT, Renee' Baker, Music Director, in connection these two new music giants present Composer-in-Residence Gregg Wramage in his Chicago premiere of  ..IN  SHADOWS..IN SILENCE.. Mr Wramage has reorchestrated his groundbreaking sextet work for chamber orchestra and will  premiere it with CMOP on January 18, 2014 at Dominican University Performing Arts Center, River Forest, Il. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. and also featured on the program will be tenor Roderick Hawkins and soprano Taylor Carter.

CHICAGO MODERN ORCHESTRA PROJECT has a mission of bringing new music as well as the classics to audiences throughout the Chicagoland area.As Dr. King's decreed mission is an integral part of CMOP's initiative, we proudly present Renee' Baker's world premiere of FREEDOM MARCH, also dedicated to Dr. King.

There will be a meet the composer reception after the concert and an after concert lecture in Martin Hall.
