Weir & Carmichael added as approved suppliers of recycling products on ESPO Framework

BOOTLE, U.K. - Jan. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Weir & Carmichael are thrilled to announce that they have been awarded approved suppliers on the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation 860 Framework for a total of 11 lots of recycling products

The successful products include kerbside recycling bags, kerbside recycling boxes and paper sacks alongside additional services such as wheeled bin refurbishment.

ESPO describes itself as “One of the UK's largest public sector professional buying organisations. It operates on a not-for-profit cost recovery basis and is committed to delivering best value to its customers, suppliers and local communities.”

The company and products were put through a strict tendering procedure to ensure they are a leading supplier, offering quality, capability and value for money to local authorities.

This is the second consecutive ESPO framework success for Weir & Carmichael, as in 2010, they were added onto the framework and have been approved suppliers for kerbside bags for the past 4 years. Throughout this time, Weir & Carmichael have supplied a large number of local authorities with recycling bags.

The new contract will begin in February 2014 and run for a two year period finishing in 2016. Councils will be able to buy waste management and recycling products through this framework knowing that the company has been fully audited and confirmed as an approved supplier. This helps to cut down valuable purchasing resource time and effort.

The success on the ESPO framework is the latest in a series of contract awards for Weir & Carmichael as approved suppliers on public sector purchasing frameworks. These include: Scotland Excel for recycling boxes, Essex Procurement Framework and Warrington Framework for kerbside recycling bags.
