While there are many blog directories available on the Web, Blog Button Directory's angle is to visually engage the directory's visitors by featuring blogs whose owners have a button (or badge) on their site. The directory's owner, Patrick Gunther, states, "While a great number of blog owners do a good job of branding their blogs with buttons, one element that is missing in their branding efforts, especially in the case of new bloggers, is the ability to get the exposure and readership they are seeking to attract to their sites. Oftentimes blog owners produce a nice-looking and very creative button with a grab box, and then hope that it gets spread around the Internet to attract new readership. Our blog directory is the avenue to get blog owners' buttons and badges to see the light of day and attract a following."
Blog Button Directory's intention is beyond simply listing the text link and description of a webmaster's blog, but rather to showcase its flavor and theme by including the visual appeal of a blog's button. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this move should pay off in the long run for Blog Button Directory. From now until March 1, 2014 blog owners can list free of charge their blogs' buttons. But it doesn't stop there, explains Gunther. "We want to make this a directory that isn't just for the link. We don't aim to be just search engine fodder. We believe that our blog directory will be an honest-to-goodness resource for people searching for new and interesting blogs to read and follow, and that those bloggers who list their blogs in our directory will get actual traffic, not just the link."
Along with the listings of their blog buttons, blog owners also have the opportunity to link to their social networks, their blogs' RSS feeds, and even embed with their listing a 30-second YouTube clip of them explaining what their blog is all about. "It's a chance to do a Cyber sales job on why someone should take a moment to come and visit your blog - and hopefully stay awhile," says Gunther. And for those who are secretly wishing that someone will come across their listing and want to "grab" their button? That is a distinct possibility because their listing will also exhibit their blog button's grab box just below it so that visitors can copy and paste the html code onto their own website or blog if they so wish.
Blog Button Directory also has plans to promote the blogs that list in their blog directory by posting new directory listings on their Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/
