Smart City Networks renews contracts with convention centers on both coasts

Convention centers in Reno and Virginia Beach extend partnership with technology provider

LAS VEGAS - Jan. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS – Smart City Networks announced that the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC) have both renewed their contracts with the event technology provider, extending their partnership for quality telecommunications and Internet services for tradeshows and events.

“We’re proud to have earned the confidence of these two premier facilities to continue offering quality technology services, including the most advanced and reliable networks to keep their events and visitors connected,” said Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks. “We are committed to working with our partner facilities to meet the growing and changing technology needs of the event industry, including the always increasing demand for Wi-Fi connectivity.”

Smart City has overseen the technology and telecommunications services at the VBCC since January 2011, and has been awarded a one-year contract extension.

The provider at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center for the past five years, Smart City has earned a two-year contract extension at the venue, with additional terms extending through Sept. 30, 2019.

As a convention center’s telecommunications and technology provider, Smart City provides copper and fiber cabling for all tradeshows and events as well as analog, digital, and multi-line telephone services. Smart City also provides high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols to all exhibit spaces and meeting rooms, and turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks to accommodate any special need.

To meet the growing demand for Wi-Fi, Smart City customizes its Wi-Fi networks to match the specific needs of each facility. At the VBCC, Wi-Fi services are provided in both the 2.4 and 5.0 gigahertz (GHz) bandwidth throughout the facility, with free Wi-Fi in the Tower Café.  At the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Smart City offers a similarly robust Wi-Fi network in all meeting rooms, exhibit halls and public spaces, with free Wi-Fi available in the main lobby and food court.
