LOS ANGELES - Jan. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- There is currently an estimated 15 million people living in America with food allergies, as noted by the Food Allergy Research & Education, Inc. With no mobile app currently available on the market to assist these people, newly-formed company ContentChecked has set roots on IndieGogo to gain support for this innovative and potentially life-saving application. The food management mobile app will be available on both iOS and Android devices.

The mobile app is intentionally simple; as all the user has to do is select the number of allergies or intolerances they have and start scanning! From there, the user simply scans any desired item and ContentChecked will tell users if it's safe for their consumption. If not, it helps the users find an alternative item. The contents of the application have already been developed as the app features a catalogue of well over 350,000 items that are available to scan at home or on store shelves. Users will even be able to write reviews for products and share them to various social media networks for others to see.

Launched on December 26, 2013 ContentChecked is a valuable resource for anyone that has to carefully monitor what foods they consume or purchase for others. The company hopes to meet their $175,000 crowd funding goal by February 09, 2014 (11:59pm PT) and become the best food allergy app for iPhone and Android.

Reward tiers for the project include:

•    Tributes name on a giant canvas, hung on the ContentChecked office wall

•    Customized rubber bracelets that state what food allergy one has

•    ContentChecked company t-shirts

•    VIP Dinner and meet-and-greet in Beverly Hills with the curators

All contributions of $25 or more will include access to the app itself. Nearly-half of the app's net download revenue will be going to food intolerance and allergy-related charities, as the company's core values are not only about helping people with allergies navigate a crowded grocery store, but to also better enrich their lives through the work of non-profit organizations.

The company provides an explainer video regarding the food allergy app on their IndieGogo page that is also available for preview via YouTube: http://youtu.be/8k-FQvMfgOI The application is designed with the hopes that it will create a community to help individuals with a different more secure way of shopping and provide solutions to the challenges of grocery shopping with food allergies.

Founded earlier this year, ContentChecked was designed by H&O, two Norwegian entrepreneurs with multiple business degrees and decades of experience. Joanna Kalafatis is their company's spokeswoman and is seen in the application's explainer video. She was also filmed by their marketing director Dylan Avery-an infamous filmmaker in his own right.
