PRLog - Jan. 3, 2014 - SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- SUNNYVALE, CA — Jan 03, 2014 — FutureDial today announced a new enhanced version of its GreenT mobile device wiping solution which can simultaneously data sanitize and refurbish mixed batches of iOS, Android and Blackberry devices, up to 24 devices at a time. This new easy-to-use, powerful version is now being deployed with several new features for improving line operation efficiency at device recycling facilities.

GreenT for Multi-Device Refurbishing and Data Wiping

FutureDial’s GreenT is a web-based client/server solution that helps prepare iOS, Android and Blackberry devices for re-use in the consumer market. The automated solution runs on a  standard PC or laptop and features easy “plug-and-play” processing of connected devices. Up to 24 devices of mixed models can be processed on a single system simultaneously. The GreenT solution performs mission-critical tasks for the device refurbishing and recycling process including data wiping, activation, transaction reporting and inventory tracking.

The color-coded GreenT user interface makes it easy for operators to monitor the progress of multiple connected devices at a glance. Indicator panels for connected devices will turn green when the process is completed, so operators can know instantly when any device has finished processing.

New Features for Users

FutureDial’s GreenT has a few added features for user-friendly improvements. One of the new features is convenient SD Card detection, which alerts operators of any connected device that still has an SD Card inserted, so the card can be removed by the operator prior to processing. Additionally, information on problem transactions is displayed as easy-to-understand descriptions so that operators can troubleshoot any issues.

Handles Mixed Devices, No Pre-Sorting Needed

iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, and Blackberry devices can now be connected and processed in the same batch, with plug-and-play simplicity of operation. This feature has mass appeal for recyclers, because it frees-up operators to process more devices at each work station, since no pre-sorting into separate batches is needed prior to processing.

“This is a real breakthrough in simultaneously processing devices across different platforms in the same batch,” says George Huang, President and CEO of FutureDial. “Mobile device recyclers do not need to spend time and resources pre-sorting devices by operating platform.  GreenT helps them to get more device through their pipelines, and streamline their operations to get more done.”

Mixed Devices and Hot-Swapping to Get More Done on Each Batch

In addition to the mixed device capability, another time-saving feature of FutureDial’s GreenT solution includes “hot-swapping”, in which completed devices on the processing line can be swapped-out at any time with devices waiting to be processed, even while other devices in the batch are still being refurbished by the system. This enables staff to process more devices simultaneously, and helps reduce operational bottlenecks at each site. Benchmarking revealed that manually performing such tasks for a set of 20 mobile devices can take about 2 hours and 20 minutes, while the GreenT solution can process the same tasks for those handsets in just 6 minutes.
