SKOKIE, Ill. - Jan. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- E-Z Movers, a professional full-service Chicago moving company http://www.e-zmovers.com/Chicago_Movers.html, is pleased to share some of the best family activities that Chicago movers, Skokie movers, and Aurora movers can find in Chicagoland.

Grab your sled and go

At Cricket Hill at Montrose Harbor, you get sledding with a great view of Montrose Harbor and Lake Michigan. This 360 degree hill means fewer lines, less waiting, and kids (or adults) can slide down whichever side they’d like.

For little ones, the Dan Ryan Woods offers child-safe sledding down a nice, long hill that isn’t too steep. A wide sledding area lets multiple kids ride at once, and the hill remains lit up until 9 p.m. And for older kids who want a little more excitement, try Mount Hoy in Warrenville on weekends, with an 800-foot snow tubing run and tube rentals at $5 per tube, per day.

Strap on your ice skates

Have fun on the ice at Naperville Centennial Park, with three lighted rinks that are open until 10 p.m.—two for hockey, and one dedicated for free skating. You’ll need your own skates, as there are no rentals, but the park also has several sledding hills for great family choices.

Free and open to the public, the McCormick Tribute Ice Rink in Millennium Park is open daily for skating through March 9, and skate rentals are $10. For skating and more, hit the Lincoln Park Zoo for ice skating at the Farm In The Zoo, where you can head to the Main Barn after skating to warm up and purchase refreshments. Skate rentals are available for $5, or bring your own.

Don’t forget the festivals

Summer isn’t the only time for festivals in the Chicagoland area. Through January 12, families can enjoy the Winter Wonder Festival at Navy Pier, with amusement rides, discount shopping, and more. The Winter Chilly Fest in Skokie brings ice skating, hay rides, snow games, and more to the Emily Oaks Nature Center, and the two-month Chicago Winter Delights festival in downtown Chicago has music, food, culture, and fun.
