What is the Outlook for Micro-Business Enterprise in the UK for 2014

Alex Barrett predicts that, with interest rates likely to rise in 2014, debt finance will continue to be unattractive as an option ofr expanding business and other new forms of financing such as peer group lending and venture funding becoming more widesparead and popular.

The political scene will become more heated but less effective as the various Westminster parties start to consolidate their positions before the next general election.

Next year will be an exciting and interesting year for Scotland which many businesses will want to prepare for with a high profile and exposure from various sporting events and the referendum on indepence in the second half of the year.

The general outlook remains uncertain but perhaps the really difficult times are coming to an end.

Alex Barrett concludes: "Micro business owners often find that the political and economic climate bears little relation to our personal success and failure. Despite the continuing uncertainty on the macroeconomic scale there is a definite upswing in optimism among small business owners."
