‘Art Saved My Life’ Film by Damon Lee Patterson Makes NY Int’l Film Festival Top 5

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- Kansas City native, Damon Lee Patterson continues to blaze his own, unique path in film and music.  Lee’s recently released film is a culmination of interviews of famous artists and musicians from Kansas City and beyond sharing the impact of art in their own lives and how impactful the arts can be for kids in the inner city who struggle for hope.  Growing up on Kansas City’s inner city east side, Lee chose emersion in the arts as his mode of expression using creativity to lead him into a life of making films, creating music and acting. Lee publishes his music under the stage name, Dae Ahzae.

Art Saved My Life is a documentary about the power of art and aims to liberate the creative forces of its viewers. Creativity is presented as a willing catalyst for social change. The film aims to prove art can transform, heal, progress, enrich, and even save someone’s life. The film features interviews with Tech N9ne, Shane Evans, Sheila E, Alexander Austin, Brian Kennedy, Theresa Goodman, Moses Brings Plenty, Lonnie McFadden, Nicolette Paige, Luna Breeze Blakeman, Justin Brewster of The KC Marching Falcons, Lovey Jane Van Benthusen, Bobby Watson, Scott Harlan Brownlee, and Natasha Ria El-Scari.
