Back-to-School Haircut Event

Tulsa, Okla., (Dec. 31, 2013) – Oklahoma Technical College (OTC) will be hosting their second annual, winter edition, of Cuts for Kids on Thursday, January 2^nd, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM in the The Barber Shop at Oklahoma Technical College. Cuts for Kids is an event that offers free back-to-school haircuts for all school-aged children in the Tulsa metro community. Last year’s winter Cuts for Kids, provided over 300 haircuts for a combine total of over 1500 haircuts between the Cuts for Kids winter and fall events.

“The holidays are an exciting, and sometimes difficult, time of year. Our students are excited to give kids a new look to go along with the new clothes, toys, and other holiday happiness, while relieving parents’ holiday financial stresses,” said Jamie Kidder, OTC campus director.

The Barber Shop at Oklahoma Technical College is located at 4444 South Sheridan Road, Tulsa, OK 74145. Haircuts will be given from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

“OTC is honored to be able to provide free haircuts to the community! Our barber students look forward to this event every year. It is so rewarding to help these kiddos get ready for their new semester, and to see all of their smiling faces,” said Destanee Sandsness, OTC office manager.

The services are performed by OTC barber students, alumni and faculty. This event is meant as an opportunity to gain real-world experience as well as give back to the community. The haircuts are completely free and no appointment is necessary.
