By: Scallions Childcare The Teacher of the Year is a coveted honor that is a way to recognize teachers that are not only wonderful in their classrooms, but also do an excellent job outside of the classes working with other teachers, the Parents the school directors, the companies senior management team – and most importantly the Children of our school and community. Throughout the year our company is involved with many events outside of the school and it is very important to us that we are involved with as many community activities as possible. It is an honor to say that we have a building full of teachers that participate in these events and help create a fun and exciting event for the children in our town and those around us. During our yearly Christmas program – after each class has sang and danced their little hearts out…the owner of the company stands up to make the announcement. During the listing of the criteria to be eligible for the award, the words community and involvement are key pieces to the description. Working with the children to create not only a wonderful learning environment – but goes out of their way to both educate and demonstrate the importance of citizenship and character. Our teacher of the Year is a “Teacher”. They are consistently reaching out to the students and recognizing teachable moments, to help and assist them in their growth into ladies and gentleman. Luella Academy is proud to announce The Teacher of the Year – 2013 Cristal Simon Along with the recognition and flowers at the Christmas Program, Crystal received a beautiful trophy and a vacation to a cabin in the mountains so she will be able to spend some time relaxing with her family.
