Comprised of artists with a rich background and flair in Latin music and its instruments, D’Cuba Son surely casts a spell on our guests with each sweeping performance. Their range of music covers salsa, merengue, flute, cumbia, maracas to English pop culture. The passionate musicians share a unique story of how they ended up in the Maldives. ‘Obispo’ is a street in Havana, where gifted musicians and artists gather to jam and pool in their talents to create wondrous harmonies. The four used to play at this hangout, and they eventually formed a band named D’Cuba Son (which literally translates into the ‘sounds of Cuba’) and travelled to the Maldives to test the waters. They are thrilled to experience the famed Maldives, with its exquisite natural beauty.
The new band performs four times weekly, and will soon offer introductory dance classes to the guests. We are pleased to share this exciting news with you and hope to see your moves on the dance floor!
