SALISBURY, N.C. - Dec. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- One of the fastest growing subjects on a U.S. college campus will be combined with study abroad. According to the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH), more health professionals are globally mobile and that's a good thing. Disease ignores borders. But of those growing number of colleges offering public heatlh studies, there is a workforce and diversity, i.e. African and Latino American, student shortage. On top of all of this, there is a need for more public health students to increase their global health competencies via activities which has increasing resume value.

Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina and IES Abroad leader in customized study abroad programming has developed for the North Carolina Study Abroad/Global Engagement (NC SAGE) Partnership the Public Health in Jamaica pilot for 2014. The NC SAGE Partnership represents the state's Historically Black Colleges and Universities, public health and health care are popular subjects. The program flyer is now available, if interested contact NC SAGE Partnership coordinator Earl Brown Jr. (ebrown@livingstone.edu) to receive it electronically and for price information. Space is limited and registration closes in February 2014.
