Candice is also pictured wearing the same Abrau Jewelry necklace that will be seen in episode 14 of The Vampire Diaries in this recent article in "The Examiner" and "International Business Times", published on December 24, 2013.
The Garnet Necklace by Abrau Jewelry, was chosen for use by the show’s wardrobe stylist Leigh Leverett from a selection of pieces presented to her by California-based arts promotion organization, The Artisan Group®, of which King is a member.
The necklace combines a wire-wrapped, faceted teardrop garnet gemstone and a gold vermeil medallion with a flush-set red gemstone and hangs on an 18" gold-filled chain.
Danielle states, “I decided to take a risk and send the stylist a necklace, even though I'm most comfortable, and best-known, for designing bracelets. My goal was to create a piece with a timeless, yet gothic feel that captures the essence of the show. I chose a red teardrop ruby gemstone and garnet bezeled medallion because the color red represents strength and passion, which is also characteristic of vampires."
On being notified of the selection of her piece for use, the designer says, “I received notification from The Artisan Group® founder Valerie Guerrero, and I was so excited that I was jumping around the house. My husband had to calm me down before I could tell him the news. When I was finally able to tell him that my necklace would be worn on the show, he was just as excited as I was! It was an amazing Christmas present for both of us!"
When she saw the actress, Candice Accola, wearing her necklace (pictured with Ian Somerhalder and Rick Cosnett), she states, "I was forwarded a picture of Candice already wearing my necklace in "The Examiner", and it was so surreal and flattering. One of the biggest rewards of what I do, is to see people from all around the world wearing something that I made with my own two hands and something that I put my heart and soul into.”
In other news, Danielle King will have her business cards included in the 2014 Golden Globes GBK swag bags, that will be received by all of the celebrity nominees and presenters.
