CHICAGO - Dec. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Technology is a forever changing thing, it is the one thing that we know for sure will always advance. Even in our efforts to return to the old-fashioned way of life….new technology and innovations are ever present. During my research for the next “Big Thing”, I was pleasantly surprised by a new product that will be coming to consumers worldwide soon.

The product is called “Ballisticks Panels”. A clever play on words in relation to what this innovative device does; in lament terms, it is a condensed bulletproof vest that can adhesive to just about anything. The actual description from the website is:

“Ballisticks Panels is a revolutionary new way of personal protection. A new form of ballistics technology that allows the user to peel off measured sections of Kevlar and other proprietary ballistics materials that have been fortified with a new Patent-Pending Process. These pads are flexible and durable; their composition is such that they can be wrapped around limbs and other body parts and items. Our revolutionary rubberized coating encases our new ballistics unit, this makes this adds to the longevity of our product; as well as making it UV Resistant.”

After I read this, I felt compelled to contact the company for an interview regarding Ballisticks Panels and its inventor. Shortly after my attempts, I received a call from Yvette Kendall, the CEO and Inventor of Ballisticks Panels, here are some excerpts from our interview:

I was very curious as to how Kendall conceived such a unique idea? This is what she had to say.

“It happened very oddly. I was actually researching and looking on the internet for black paper towels and happened upon a photo of a roll of black paper towels with a cool metal-looking canister. While I stared at the photo, I said to myself, wouldn’t it be fantastic if this were Kevlar that you could rip-off and use instead of just paper towels? It was something about that black metallic canister that sent my mind reeling into futuristic innovations.”

Kendall went on to say that, all of her innovations over the years revealed themselves just like that, very simple. I, as a researcher and a consumer have to say that- although ideas inject themselves into our lives on the daily, there is much more to innovation than  this…..will it work??? After speaking with Kendall and doing a lot of digging, I now feel that theoretically it will work. One of the many reasons why I state this is because, it’s already working.

Kevlar and other Ballistics materials are in use every day in the forms of bulletproof vest, clothing and backpacks; there are many other ballistics wearables and accessories that you can find to incorporate in all areas of one’s lifestyle. What Ballisticks has done is nothing short of revolutionary; to take the sensibility of a typical bulletproof vest and fortified it.

They have condensed the vest which has made them lighter and sleeker, with the same or better protection. Ballisticks Panels are flexible, and have been incased in a rubberized material for advanced strength. The fact that it can adhesive to almost anything, even skin makes this product dynamic.

Ballisticks Panels are the things that futuristic movies are made from! As I contemplated on the pads and reviewed the photos of the product, I could visualize these stylish utilitarian inanimate objects stealing the scenes in movies past like Minority Report, Tron and Star Trek.

Ballisticks Panels overflow with innovation in so many ways; our society is constantly searching for new avenues to protect us, not only the general public but law enforcement here and abroad. With random school and workplace shootings on the rise, the best thing we can do is look toward inventions like this.

Kendall further stated that, “It really is not our goal to replace the Bulletproof Vest, our desire is to assist the vest from being limited, a vest only protects one person while Ballisticks can protect many. If a class of 20 children is being fired upon, one vest can do nothing for that class, while a couple of canisters of Ballisticks can give life-saving protection to the entire class. It is as simple as Open, Peel and Stick.”

Even with this product being new, there already seems to be a cost benefit as well as some unknown benefits coming to light; generally bulletproof vest are not made in child sizes. Even the bulletproof book bags need to be retrieved from lockers in order to be of some use and still they are cumbersome and slightly protective even then.

As stated before this product is not available on the market yet, so until then, you be the judge. Visit the official site at www.Ballisticks.com and do your own research. I am eagerly anticipating its debut and if the price is right. I will be amongst villagers, standing in a mile long line (with my umbrella, folding chair and energy bars) in tow while braving the elements to get my new wave of protection!
