She has managed more than 50 projects for major organizations across the globe. A keynote speaker at industry events worldwide, she leads a consulting practice advancing the project management maturity of organizations, working with organizations to scope, plan and implement improvement strategies. For the past ten years she been program manager, chief program officer, and Vice President of OPM Mentors, a consulting group affiiated with InfoWorks International, Inc. in Chicago and Sydney serving corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and consulting firms. Prior to founding OPM Mentors, Helen Cooke held management positions with United Airlines, McDonalds Corporation, American Management Systems, Deloitte, and Northwestern University. She headed a Management Consulting Practice, a Project Management Center of Excellence and a PMO in IS/IT, and was a mid-level program manager in the US Government. Helen's work at PMI A Fellow of the Project Management Institute since 2005, she was elected Vice President and served on PMI's Global Board of Directors for six years. She chaired the Council of Chapter Presidents, was an elected officer of the PMI Educational Foundation, a reviewer for the PM Journal, and a leader of key PMI strategic initiatives-- Helen is a past President of the PMI Chicagoland Chapter and Founder of the Executive Council.
