The Chicken Soup Project at Stein Hospice

By: The Martin and Edith Stein Hospice

SOMERSET, N.J. - Dec. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- The Stein Hospice Chicken Soup Project is providing welcome chicken (and other) soups to hospice patients and their families.  When solid food is not easily tolerated or family members are overwhelmed, a couple of quarts of delicious and nutritious kosher soup provide warm and comforting support. Recently, the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El in Somerset provided 30 quarts of soup as well as challah rolls.  Coming in January, the Sisterhood of the Highland Park Conservative Temple-CAE in Highland Park, and the Social Action Committee of Congregation Bnai Israel in Basking Ridge will be cooking soup as well.   In February, Hebrew School students at Congregation Bnai Israel and the Sisterhood of Congregation Bnai Tikvah in North Brunswick will also be cooking for our patients and families.

If you wish to cook for our patients and have access to a kosher kitchen supervised by a rabbi, please contact Sara Culang at (732) 227-1212 to schedule a date.  If you would like to support The Chicken Soup Project monetarily, please can send a check made out to Stein Hospice, noting “The Chicken Soup Project” to: Stein Hospice, 49 Veronica Avenue, Suite 206, Somerset NJ  08873.  Thank you to The Foundation of the Wilf Campus for serving as a funder for this project.
