Soldier Starts Crowdfunding Campaign to Help Employ Veterans

Alec Haggerty, a Sergeant in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood Texas, starts a crowdfunding campaign for his business, EcoGrunt Home Improvements, to help provide jobs for veterans.

KILLEEN, Texas - Dec. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Alec Haggerty is a Sergeant in the Army assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood Texas. Haggerty has started a crowdfunding campaign for his business, EcoGrunt Home Improvements, a "Green" construction and remodeling company dedicated to hiring his brothers in arms. Haggerty got his idea while driving past an armed forces staffing agency. "I was shocked when I saw a huge line coming out of the place," he says, "There is no reason why the men and women who served this country should be unemployed."
Haggerty decided to help by starting a business dedicated to hiring veterans. "I know I can't help everyone but maybe if I do this it will start a chain reaction."
He plans on matching every dollar made by his campaign by doing remodeling and preservation services for wounded warriors and under privileged households over the next few years, donating his services to help combat vets who need homes remodeled to accommodate them and their injuries.

You can find out more about the launch of this campaign by following @ecogrunts on twitter and facebook.
