NEW YORK - Dec. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- In November 2013, motorcycle road racer Brandon Cretu, the youngest American ever to compete at the Isle of Man TT races, took on the 60th running of the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, one of the oldest and most prestigious road races in the world. Battling the top echelon of motorcycle racers from around the globe, Cretu scored a 20th place finish, riding an Eric Buell Racing EBR1190RS, wearing the livery of British team, Splitlath Redmond.

The Macau GP is a true test of a rider’s mental and physical strength, challenged only by the TT in what it takes to compete. The 3.7 mile course snakes through the streets of Macau, China, is lined entirely with steel Armco barriers, and has become an infamous circuit which allows no room for error nor lapse in concentration. There is absolutely nothing like it.

2013 marked Cretu's second appearance as a Macau GP competitor. "The 2013 Macau Grand Prix was the best racing endeavor of my career to date," said Cretu  "We had an amazing team, an awesome new bike, the EBR1190RS, and the best set of sponsors and supporters imaginable."

Brandon had worked tirelessly from the time the 2013 TT ended to put together a solid effort for Macau. "I wanted to show up ready to compete, with a professional and fully capable team, and we did that and then some," said Cretu. Sponsors included long-time supporters HEL Performance and MOTUL, as well as Dunlop USA. The race bike was provided by AMA Superbike team RS Racecraft. The Splitlath Redmond team supported the effort, and placed the second EBR1190RS on the grid with fellow American rider, Mark Miller.

"I accomplished my goal of a top- 20 finish in the Macau GP, and this tees up an exciting 2014 for me" added Cretu. " I can't wait to make some announcements about our 2014 racing efforts in the near future!"
