By: Idyllwild Arts Ms. Pamela Jordan has a Bachelor of Music degree from Phillips University and a Master of Arts Education from Northeastern Illinois University. With over 23 years of experience at The Chicago Academy for the Arts, Pamela has served that institution in various capacities, and has been the Head of School for the past 11 years. Pamela also holds leadership positions in a number of regional and national independent school organizations. “I am passionate about arts education and very excited about the opportunity to work with the talented faculty and staff of Idyllwild Arts.” Pamela commented; “I am a firm believer in the mission of Idyllwild Arts and I look forward to working with the Board, Faculty and Staff of Idyllwild Arts as we build upon the strong reputation of this remarkable institution.” Idyllwild Arts’ Board Chair, Faith Raiguel comments, “I am thrilled that Pamela has accepted the position of President. She brings rich experience and a history of visionary leadership that is uniquely suited to ensure the academy and summer program thrive and continue to fulfill the IAF mission.” Ms. Jordan will begin at Idyllwild Arts in July 2014 Located in the mountains just two hours east of Los Angeles, Idyllwild Arts opened its Academy, a fully accredited, boarding high school for the Arts, in 1986. The Academy offers 7 majors, including music, dance, theatre, visual arts, writing, filmmaking and Inter-Arts. It continues to host an extensive Summer Program offering over100 intensive hands-on workshops for all ages in a variety of fields. With a 200-acre campus, extensive studio, exhibition and performance spaces and a notable faculty, IAF also has a history of visiting artists such as Ansel Adams, Meredith Willson, Bella Lewitzky, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Pete Seeger, Norman Corwin and notable alumni including Casey Abrams, Shepard Fairey, Nate Lowman, Tony nominee Marin Ireland, clarinetist Evan Christopher and musician Trevor Hall.
