Students must submit original works of art that capture a significant moment, event or figure in African-American, African or African Diasporan history. A panel of judges, including art and history experts, will select 12 finalists who will win a month-long gallery exhibit to showcase their artwork at the N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art in midtown Detroit. The first place winner’s teacher also will receive a cash prize in the amount $375.

50 Semi-Finalists receive a $10 McDonald’s Arch Card
DEADLINE: Online entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. E.T. on December 20, 2013. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by December 20, 2013 and received by December 27, 2013.
