Measurement of bovine, canine, chicken, equine and swine IFN alpha is now possible using Kingfisher Biotech’s new IFN alpha Do-It-Yourself ELISAs.

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 17, 2013 - SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Measurement of IFN alpha gives the scientist better insight on the innate immune response to a viral load. The IFN family is classified as types I, II, and III, and plays a pivotal role in innate defense toward virus infection. Being the first line of defense, type I IFN including IFN alpha and IFN beta, exert their potent antiviral activities immediately after virus infection by inhibiting viral replication and enhancing immune responses.

Kingfisher Biotech’s portfolio of Do-It-Yourself ELISAs to IFN alpha includes kits for bovine IFN alpha, canine IFN alpha, chicken IFN alpha, equine IFN alpha, and swine IFN alpha. Do-It-Yourself ELISAs contains capture antibody, standard, and detection antibody for development of a ELISA. The antibodies have been determined to function in an ELISA with the standard provided. Optimal buffers, concentrations, incubation times, incubation temperatures, and methods for the ELISA are determined by the end-user making this kit very flexible.
