Assuage Luxury Spa Opens in Fort Myers, Fla

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Dec. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Assuage Luxury Spa, the new medical spa that brings exotic relaxation treatments from around the globe to Southwest Florida, celebrated its grand opening December 12 with a ribbon cutting and open house for about 100 guests.

Assuage is located at 9407 Cypress Lake Drive, Suite C, adjacent to the South Fort Myers office of facial plastic surgeon Dr. Stephen Prendiville, who serves as medical director of the spa. “Assuage,” which means to soothe or satisfy, was created by Tehjan Prendiville, a registered nurse and the wife of Dr. Prendiville.

Guests sampled platters of Mediterranean cuisine during the grand opening celebration, which included chair massages and exotic drinks served both inside the intimate spa and outside under a Moroccan tent with relaxing imported furnishings.

“We wanted to give our guests a sampling of what Assuage is all about – a global fusion of hand-selected treatments from around the world,” said Tehjan Prendiville.

Tehjan Prendiville has worked in the field of mental health for 26 years and has traveled the world with a special interest in cultural healing.  Assuage Spa was created to incorporate these age-old holistic approaches acquired on her travels.

“Our mission is to enhance and enrich overall health by taking a holistic approach to the entire individual, including mind, body and spirit,” she said

Ancient practices and exotic techniques are complimented by contemporary equipment and state-of-the-art technology. All services are accompanied by complimentary use of the spa’s steam shower and sauna.

Assuage offers all the treatments typically expected from a luxury spa and much more. For example, Assuage offers special medical treatments for pre and post surgery such as lymphatic drainage and post-mastectomy massage. Expectant mothers can receive a pre-natal massage with approval from their obstetrician.
