Adams Homes teams up with United Way to feed hungry

GULF BREEZE, Fla. - Dec. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Adams Homes’ Production Manager, Mike Patterson started his annual turkey fry 11 years ago in his garage with some friends and fried about seven turkeys.  Mr. Patterson said, “I do the turkey fry just for fun!  I enjoy cooking and the annual turkey fry has just grown bigger every year.  I don’t really like oven cooked turkey so I tried frying those 11 years ago and I loved them!”

At this year’s annual turkey fry, about 200 people were in attendance.  Participants brought a thawed turkey and Patterson fried it and wrapped it in foil for the next day.  While participants waited on their turkey, they played corn hole, chicken drop bingo, or had a drink and listened to the band.

Last year Mr. Patterson fried 49 turkeys.  This year he set a new record with 81 fried turkeys.  Patterson teamed up with United Way and fed 12 veteran families and 12 local families in need.  Mr. Patterson hopes to double that number at next year’s 12^th annual turkey fry.

Mike Patterson has worked for Adams Homes for nearly 12 years.  He started as a superintendent and has been the Production Manager in our Crestview, Florida office for the past seven years.
